Agence Maritime d’Orient
The single-story building was constructed in the 19th century on the intersection of 1st Kordon Avenue and Arap Çarşısı Street. The building was used for pubs and cafés. Renovated over time, it became a two-story building that entirely covered the parcel. Once housing the İzmir Müdafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti (Association for Defense of Rights), the building was later used by transportation companies including “Ellerman Lines,” “Olivier & Co” and “Agence Maritime d’Orient.” The building survived the 1922 fire without damage, but was demolished in the 1960s to build a small square.
